Traditional Vietnamese fish dipping sauce used for a variety of recipes

Ingredients: [‘sugar’, ‘water’, ‘fish sauce’, ‘lime juice’, ‘garlic clove’, ‘thai red chili pepper’, ‘shallot’]

Quantity of Ingredients: [“5 tablespoons sugar”,”3 tablespoons water”,”1/3 cup fish sauce”,”1/2 cup lime juice or 1/2 cup lemon juice”,”1 large garlic clove, minced “,”1 -2 Thai red chili pepper, seeded, sliced, minced (more if you want)”,”1 shallot, peeled, thinly sliced, rinsed, and drained “]

Steps: [‘Whisk together the sugar, water, fish sauce, and lime or lemon juice in a bowl until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the garlic, chili, and shallot (if using) and let stand for 30 minutes before serving.’]
