Rum Taffy Peaches

Here is a wonderful treat for everyone, it can also be a very nice dessert in the summertime, after those salad dinners – served chilled.

Ingredients: [‘molasses’, ‘sugar’, ‘water’, ‘lemon juice’, ‘rum’, ‘peaches’]

Quantity of Ingredients: [“1/2 cup molasses”,”1/3 cup sugar”,”1/2 cup water”,”3 tablespoons lemon juice”,”2 tablespoons rum or 1 teaspoon rum extract”,”5 large peaches, peeled, pitted and halved “]

Number of Servings: 10

Steps: [‘Combine molasses, sugar, water, lemon juice and rum in 10-inch skillet. Simmer 5 minutes. Add peach halves; allow mixture to come to a simmer again. Cover, cook 10 minutes or until just tender, serve warm or chilled with ice cream.’, ‘If desired, 1 can (28 oz) peach halves may be substituted for fresh peaches. Substitute peach syrup for water and reduce sugar to 3 tablespoons.’]
