Cream Cheese Middle Substitute (No-Cook Divinty)

2

This recipe was posted in reply to a thread request for no-cook divinity, but in preparing, I (and others)have found it does not harden like a typical divinity. It is delicious, but does have the consistency of a cream-cheese middle. When I made it, it was a substitute for the cream cheese middle for a dessert and worked wonderfully. If you’re aiming for this to make divinity candy, it doesn’t work as even another reviewer had the same outcome as I did. I didn’t whip the candy for as long as the recipe states on purpose for my benefit, but obviously when doing it exactly as the recipe states it doesn’t work either.

Ingredients: [‘dream whip topping mix’, ‘vanilla’, ‘powdered sugar’, ‘corn syrup’, ‘boiling water’]

Quantity of Ingredients: [“1 (2 5/8 ounce) envelope Dream Whip topping mix”,”1 teaspoon vanilla”,”1 lb powdered sugar”,”1/3 cup karo corn syrup”,”1/2 cup boiling water”]

Number of Servings: 1

Steps: [‘Combine the Dream Whip, corn syrup, vanilla, and boiling water in a 2 quart mixing bowl. Beat on highest speed until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes.’, ‘On low speed, gradually blend in the powdered sugar.’, ‘Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper. Allow to dry at least 12 hours.’]
