Delicious Nutritious Banana Bread

This is a healthier version of our favorite banana bread recipe. It has very little fat yet still moist and light. The maple syrup also adds a nice depth of flavor. I use white whole wheat which is lighter, milder and less dense than regular whole wheat and would recommend it for this recipe. King Arthur Flour carries it.

Ingredients: [‘honey’, ‘real maple syrup’, ‘vanilla’, ‘eggs’, ‘bananas’, ‘milk’, ‘whole wheat flour’, ‘ground flax seeds’, ‘baking powder’, ‘baking soda’, ‘salt’]

Quantity of Ingredients: [“1/4 cup honey”,”1/4 cup real maple syrup”,”2 teaspoons vanilla”,”2 eggs”,”3 bananas, mashed “,”1/4 cup milk”,”2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour”,”1/4 cup ground flax seeds”,”2 teaspoons baking powder”,”1/2 teaspoon baking soda”,”3/4 teaspoon salt”]

Number of Servings: 4

Steps: [‘Pre-heat oven to 350°F.’, ‘Stir together all the wet ingredients (first 6) in a large bowl.’, ‘In a smaller bowl stir together the dry ingredients.’, ‘Add dry ingredients to the wet and mix until basically smooth.’, ‘Pour batter into a well greased loaf pan and place into the oven to bake for 50-60 min or until tooth pick comes out fairly clean.’, ‘Enjoy!’]
